  • Things No One Told You is Y Ballarat Youth's Engage! life-skills program. We offer a range of programs and delivery options. This EOI is for schools /organisations NOT individuals. Program capacity is maximum 12 young people.   

  • Things No One Told You programs available:  

     

    Mechanical fundamentals to fix/maintain cars.
    Change tyres, check oil, coolant & brake fluids
    Promote self-sufficiency, reducing the need to ask others for help
    Basic automotive skills
    Navigating challenges with cars
    Identify and fix issues and build confidence.

    Regulate emotions, anger, depression, anxiety and self confidence
    “Channel” not “suppress” emotions
    Violence in any form never acceptable
    Build emotional intelligence
    Avoid conflict via emotional intelligence
     “Stop”, “Think”, “Act” and “Outcome” techniques
    Think & take responsibility for actions & choices.

    Hands-on
    Healthy meals, meal planning, and nutritional education
    Group cooking session, communal meal
    Discuss nutrition & healthy eating habits
    Food pyramid to learn nutrition needs 
    Effects of “diet culture” on youth

    Workshop series 

    Delivered to a group of young people, covering a range of Things No One Told you topics. Workshops are usually offered with a mix of 'Y selected' workshops and opportunity for young people participating to select the remaining workshops.
